Ray Kroc

Ray Kroc was an American entrepreneur who joined McDonald's in 1954 and built it become the world's largest chain of fast-food restaurants.

Outcome oriented - it doesn’t matter how they get there as long as they get there. The final outcome is the most important no matter at the end achieve or lose a certain target rather than going through the process.

Ray Kroc is one of the entrepreneur who has outcome oriented trait. Ray founded a small restaurant, McDonald, run by brothers Dick and Mac in San Bernardino, California in year 1954. On that time, the restaurant just produced a limited menu and concentrate on burgers, fries and beverages. It was easily focus on quality and quick service. Ray Kroc saw this opportunity and then joined McDonald. He pitched his vision of creating McDonald’s restaurant all over the United State. In year 1955, he found McDonald’s System and he bought the exclusive rights to the McDonald’s name after six years later.

Besides that, he promoted the slogan, “In business for yourself, but not by yourself” to persuade both franchisees and suppliers to buy into his vision. He wanted a restaurant which has systematic and it would be famous for providing food of consistently high quality and uniform methods of preparation. Furthermore, franchisees needed to follow the core McDonald’s principles of quality, service and value. The definition of quality meant that every single ingredient must be tested, tasted and perfected to fit the operating system.

Based on this, Ray Kroc is outcome oriented, he able to cut through and resolve problems when the restaurant was stunned by the effectiveness. Ray Kroc just wanted to give the best to his customer by providing a food with high quality and good service no matter the process is. At the end, he achieved his goal and until today, McDonald still is the biggest chain of fast-food restaurant.
